Gospel Love Feasts in the Meeting Hall
In June of last year, the church in Dili officially began using its new meeting hall. Since then, the brothers and sisters have been actively seeking how to best utilize this new space. Beginning in August, we started holding a monthly gospel love feast on the first Lord’s day evening of each month. Everyone brings dishes they’ve carefully prepared and invites gospel friends to come and enjoy the meal together. These gospel love feasts have brought much grace and have also given the saints more opportunities to function.
Timor-Leste is a predominantly Catholic country. Most locals grow up going to mass weekly to hear the Bible explained by a priest or bishop, and many come from devout Catholic families. Because of this, bringing the gospel into the homes of the saints can be difficult and often meets resistance. With this as the background, the monthly gospel love feast has become a golden opportunity for the saints to share their testimonies and preach the gospel.
At the love feast on October 6, a brother brought his younger brother and niece, both of whom were very open. They agreed to attend the bread-breaking meeting the following Lord’s day. We had been visiting this brother’s home for two years, continually imparting a burden for the gospel to him. Thank the Lord, this brother has now experienced a noticeable change, and we are truly grateful.
Through these gospel love feasts, the saints have gradually gained a burden to invite their employees to join as well. Since the start of this year, we’ve had an average of 7 to 8 gospel friends attend each time, with the largest gathering reaching 13 friends. In the October love feast, 9 gospel friends joined us—including 3 employees of the saints, 4 university students, and 2 relatives of the saints. Among them, 6 were attending for the first time. We also encourage the saints to pray for these friends by name and regularly visit them at their workplaces. Most of them come from a Catholic background, and may not get baptized quickly. They need continuous care, invitations, and our desperate intercession.
Thank the Lord—the church in Dili hosts the most abundant dinner in all of Timor-Leste! Here, there is not only delicious food but also the overflowing love of the saints and the all-inclusive Christ. All who are thirsty and willing are welcome to come!
Prayer Requests
1. Pray for the church in Dili, that the Lord would gain many young people in Timor-Leste to serve Him and the church.
2. Pray for the gospel friends who have attended the love feasts, and that the saints would continue steadfastly to contact them and pray for their salvation.
Sri Lanka
Perfecting Training in Colombo
From November 5–9, a five-day perfecting training was held in Colombo. The first three days were co-workers’ training, followed by serving ones’ training over the final two days. Fifteen co-workers participated. Through all the messages, PSRP, individual and corporate prayers in the afternoons, and evening fellowship on service, the Lord clearly revealed the way forward.
In terms of truth, we plan to go through the Life-study of Romans together daily according to the schedule of one message per week. The goal is to delve into the key points of the truth and in order to be constituted. Concerning prayer, we must encourage the saints to value the church prayer meetings—to exercise the authority of the Body to bind and loose, so that the gospel of the kingdom would not be hindered. Regarding the gospel, we must strengthen our work on the campuses to gain high-quality college students, and encourage saints in the churches to join in the weekly church gospel visitations. As for shepherding, we need to update our contact lists, conduct proper statistics, count the flock, and strengthen home meetings—seeking to make the number of saints in home meetings 1.5 times that of the Lord’s Day attendance.
Concerning literature service, please pray for the Holy Word for Morning Revival translation team—that the Lord would raise up more saints to join this service so that the word of the Lord may grow and prevail.
Following the coworker training, 44 saints joined the two-day serving ones’ training. In addition to the messages, the burden from the coworker training was also imparted, strengthening everyone to move forward together in the Body.
Prayer Requests
1. Pray that more churches in Sri Lanka would enter into the Life-studies and pursue together.
2. Pray for more saints to participate in in-person prayer meetings and weekly gospel visitations.
3. Pray for the campus and young people’s work, that the Lord would raise up more burdened young ones as pillars to strengthen His testimony in Sri Lanka.
Pakistan
2024 National Conference
The 2024 Pakistan National Conference was held from November 9–10 in Islamabad, with the general subject: “The Law of the Spirit of Life.” Around 320 saints and 60 children from five cities attended, including many new ones. All the saints received the timely speaking of the Spirit to the churches. Over 100 saints enjoyed hospitality from the local saints. Through fellowship and blending, everyone richly experienced the reality of the Body of Christ.
The brothers shared on the line of life and the line of death in Romans 5–8, helping us to see that the law of the Spirit of life is the focus of the entire Bible and the center of the universe. We need to live in the law of the Spirit of life by exercising to constantly touch and love the Lord, receiving His supply and dispensing, that we might be conformed to the image of God’s firstborn Son and fulfill God’s eternal economy.
Many saints testified during the sharing times that, previously, they didn’t have a clear understanding of the matter of laws in the Bible. But through this conference, they came to know that there are three lives and three laws within man, and even an outward law of God. Now they also know how to experience the law of the Spirit of life. Many offered themselves to live continually in this law.
After each session, there was fellowship from different churches, allowing the saints to learn about the situation and prayer burdens in various localities. Through this mutual fellowship and intercession, the saints saw the Lord’s move across the nation and the needs of the Body, allowing the Lord to continue strengthening His testimony in Pakistan.
Praise the Lord—through this national conference, the saints were brought further into the reality of the Body of Christ. May the Lord bless all the speaking from the conference, continuing to operate, shine, and supply within each attendee, that all might be conformed to the image of God’s firstborn son, thus fulfilling His economy.
Not long ago, the saints began distributing Rhema literature on the campus in Islamabad, hoping to reach more high-quality young people and spread the gospel of the kingdom. Additionally, this year the total number of saints in the churches in Pakistan has increased by 24%. We are praying that the number of saints in Islamabad and Lahore will grow to 160 and 100, respectively. May the Lord continue to remember all the churches in Pakistan.
